Exposure Steam Electric Cigarettes Containing Free Radicals

Many people assume that the electric cigarette is healthier than tobacco cigarettes. However, in recent studies, the steam which is owned by the electric cigarette contains the same free radicals found in conventional cigarettes.

As reported by Gizmag, Friday (02/13/2015), a team of researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health said vapor from electric cigarettes can damage the human immune system.

Not only that, the electric cigarettes also contain chemical free radicals, previously thought to only exist in the smoke of tobacco and air pollutants, although the numbers are much lower one percent of the 1,014 free radicals found in cigarette smoke per puff.

"We were surprised at the high number of findings. Because given the electric cigarette does not produce combustion products. However, exposure to free radicals it 100 times now significantly lower than tobacco smoke, "said Professor Thomas Sussan, PhD

In this study, the researchers divided the two research groups, namely in the first group of rodents put into a room full of tobacco smoke. While in the second group, put in a room with electric cigarette exposure.

The result is surprising in two weeks later. Some rodents are the subject of these trials affected by pneumonia, sinusitis, and influenza A. In fact, some of the rodents that have died.

"Steam electric cigarette manufactured with only mild effects of inflammation of the lungs. Not only that, from exposure to the smoke that does not seem too risky promote weight loss and impaired immune response," said Sussan.
