WhatsApp Translucent 1 Billion Downloads on Android

Instant messaging application WhatsApp claimed has been downloaded one billion times through the Google Play Store on Android.
The achievement makes WhatsApp as the second non-Google applications that successfully surpassed one billion downloads, after Facebook.

The number could be known as the Play Store displays the number of installations in each application. In WhatsApp application page in the Play Store, Google put the numbers 1 to 5 billion times.
Of course, one billion times weekly can not translate the application WhatsApp installed on a billion devices, due in January WhatsApp announced a new monthly active users reached 700 million people for the Android and iOS platforms.
Additionally, Google Play Store also count the number of downloads of applications based on the Google account, not based on each device, so Google does not count how many accounts are removing the application WhatsApp.
However, quoted KompasTekno from Venture Beat, Thursday (03/12/2015), it is difficult for an app in the Play Store to penetrate the amount of 1 billion downloads. Moreover, WhatsApp is a non-Google application.
Because WhatsApp has been acquired by Facebook, Facebook now has two applications that record the achievement of one million downloads.
The latest innovation introduced WhatsApp for current users is the ability to interact through three popular browsers, that is Chrome, Firefox and Opera. In addition, the instant messaging service is also currently developing a feature phone called WhatsApp Call.
